Flatwoods family,
You may remember a prayer we began praying to kick of 2020.  It comes from Philippians 2 and some call it the Christ Hymn.
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that isabove every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of
God the Father.
Flatwoods, think like this.  Think not only about your own interests, but the interests of others.  Let us be people of hope to work hard to remain connected.

I love you Flatwoods.  We are going to need eachother now more than ever & Stone County is going to need Flatwoods more than ever.  Let us be a church full of hope, peace, and patience as we life everyday life with gospel intentionality!
Pastor Jonathan
Flatwoods family,
We miss you Flatwoods family.  We miss gathering together and worshiping together.  We are really looking forward being the church gathered once again.  Even now I think about Paul’s words in Philippians 1 as he is remembering this church he is “making his prayers with joy, because of his partnership with them in the gospel.”  Flatwoods I love you & your Pastors are truly making our prayers with joy as we have all of you on our hearts!
Here is a quick update a few things and some of our plan for now.
– Home worship ONLY on March 28 & April 5
– We will provide you with a Home Worship Guide, and you can catch a new sermon & worship online Sunday morning.
– We have given our staff the option to work from home.  Please know that we are your Pastors…which means our greatest concern is Christ’s church, Stone County, & the world.  We are here to pray with you, listen, encourage, and exhort.  We also are striving to leverge Flatwoods for the glory of God.  We will continue to do that well as a scattered church.
–  We are thinking creatively about Easter.  As we are as unsure as you are about what will transpire, we are looking at all the options for April 12.
– Thank you for your generosity church!  We know that giving during situations like these becomes sacrificial very quickly.  As always giving is a matter of the heart & a response to the glorious gospel of grace.  You can give online (GIVE), through the mail, or drop your offering of at the office.
I wish I could say this in person, but since I am unable…
I love you Flatwoods.  I truly thank God for all of you.  We are servants of King Jesus, and He desires to work through us for our good and his glory.  Be a church full of hope, peace, and patience as we life everyday life with gospel intentionality!
Pastor Jonathan
Flatwoods family,
This is really an interesting time in our world.  As there seems to be more questions than answers, I pray that you have truly been people of hope and peace this week.  We have peace because we know the one who is our peace, and the one who brings peace in the chaos.
There is this line in Romans 12:10 that I love.  “Outdo one another in showing honor.”  Now is the time to do just that church.  Call, facetime, text, or a simply write a card to someone.  You could run an errand for someone, take someone a meal, or buy a family a bag of groceries. “Outdo one another in showing honor.”  If you could use a hand in any way, fill out this form.  We are working hard to serve one another.
I want you to know that your pastors are continuing to assess the situation before us.
At this time all Flatwoods activites are canceled through March 28.
We have chosen to take things one week at a time.  We will continue to provide a livestream service each Sunday.  Please check-out our livestream service page, as we strive to make Sunday as interactive as possible.
Although we will not be gathering on-site this Sunday, we can still be obedient to God through giving.  You can give online (GIVE), through the mail, or drop your offering of at the office.  Thank you for your generosity that allows Flatwoods to fulfill the mission of seeing Stone County transformed by Jesus.
I am really excited about this piece.  I would love for Flatwoods to join together in reading the Gospel of John.  Here is our reading plan for the next 4ish weeks that will take us through Easter.  On top of that, all of my teaching will be from the Gospel of John.
Remember, we are a diverse family under Christ who gather and scatter…let’s be a really good scattered church!
God bless,
Pastor Jonathan
March 22 & 25
Due to the current situation, we have canceled all Flatwood activities, services, and events for March 15 & 18.  Please check back for more information in the coming days.
We know that gathering in large groups is not best for Flatwoods and our community at this time.  However, we think a great option for Sunday night would be smaller groups.  We encourage those who are up for it, to share a meal together, discuss Sunday’s teaching, and pray together.  This is a great way for us to experience the church scattered.
If you want to host a group, here are a few things to help you out…
Please show caution if you are planning to gather with a small group.

— Wash your hands frequently

— Stay home if sick

— Refrain from large gatherings and be wise
